It is always better to make a mixture with a composition of 35% mustard seed, 35% canary seed, 10% wheat seeds, 5% flax seeds, and 5% Niger seeds. This mixture should be given to birds every day. Like the other pet birds, canary birds also need a mixture of seeds. Vegetables such as salad, broccoli, carrot, and spinach, and fruits such as pear, cherries, strawberries, and apples should be given as a food additive to the canary bird in its daily diet. In addition, they can be fed with an egg mixed with bread flour and hemp seeds, given in every week. Providing canary birds with sprout seeds will give them more proteins. Water must be made available and changed daily. Generally, if the canary lives without water for more than 16 hours, the probability of life is quite less. The ideal daily canary cage must have a minimum length of 40 cm and width of 200 cm and a height size of 25 cm. A square-type cage is always been recommended for a canary bird since it requires a wider space. Avoid keeping your canaries in a round-shaped cage. A perching place can be made of many different materials, but it is recommended to use softwood.
- Healthiness And Cleanliness Of Canary Birds: A cage and perching place for the canary birds must be kept clean. It is always recommended to clean the cage of the bird every week. The food and drinks provided to birds should be clean. They should be provided with a special place to take a bath. You must remember that the place that is used to take a bath and to drink must be a control for the cleanliness and healthiness of your canary birds.
- The environment of the Cage: Put a canary birdcage at the right location, which can easily catch the sunshine. Canaries are very sensitive to many gases and other toxins.
